Mobile app penetration testing for iOS and Android
A mobile app penetration test examines what an attacker can learn from your iOS and Android builds and what they can do with it. ITovio reverse engineers the app, inspects what it stores on the device, defeats its protections and then attacks the API it trusts, which is where most mobile findings turn into real impact.
Enterprise only. Cyber security is the one service ITovio offers at enterprise level: established companies and enterprises with production systems worth attacking properly. We do not sell low-budget scans or small-business security packages.
- Banking, fintech, health and insurance apps holding sensitive data.
- Consumer apps with accounts, payments or loyalty value.
- Companies releasing a new app or a major rebuild.
- Enterprises with internal apps on managed devices.
Definitive results, not maybes
Proven, not suspected
Every finding in the report is exploited by hand and shipped with a working proof of concept, reproduction steps and evidence. No unverified scanner output, no "potential" issues padding the page count.
Ranked by business impact
Severity is scored with CVSS and then argued in plain language: what an attacker reaches, which data, which customers, what it would cost you.
Closed means closed
After you fix, we attack the same issue again. The retest report states, per finding, whether it is closed, partly closed or still open.
A clean result is still a result
If a target holds, the report says exactly what was attacked, how and for how long, so "nothing exploitable found" is evidence you can hand to a customer, auditor or board.
What we test
Aligned with the OWASP Mobile Application Security Verification Standard (MASVS) and Testing Guide.
| Area | What we look for |
|---|---|
| Storage | Tokens, personal data and keys in local storage, logs, caches, backups and screenshots |
| Cryptography | Hard-coded keys, weak or home-made encryption, misuse of the platform keystore |
| Network | Certificate validation and pinning, cleartext traffic, trust of user-installed certificates |
| Authentication | Biometric and PIN bypass, session handling, token lifetime, device binding |
| Code and resilience | Decompilation, secrets in the binary, root and jailbreak detection, tamper and debug protections |
| Platform interaction | Deep links, intents, URL schemes, WebViews, clipboard and inter-app data exposure |
| The API behind it | The backend tested as an API, because protections in the app are not protections on the server |
Asked before most engagements
Do you need the source code?
Do you test both iOS and Android?
